GDPR is a series of rules and regulations that must be recognised and addressed in any organisation or business. By law there are polices you have to develop around data in your business, an updated Privacy statement / a cookies policy and a number of forms that you and your colleagues must have access to should you receive a request from someone to access the data you hold on them.
This can be as simple or as complicated as you choose it to be. The Data Protection Commissioner’s office are overseeing the implementation and working practices for GDPR and can impose fines for breaches and non compliance of the GDPR regulations on companies big and small.
The choices are to bury your head in the sand and hope it won’t affect your business or take a pro-active approach and put your business in order. Having many years experience in the data space I have been asked by my clients to put together a workshop that addresses the requirements in your business around GDPR.
It is not a blanket one size fits all – but tailored to your business. My colleague Ed Kelly looks after the legal compliance and I look after the data flow aspect.
